Medium Viscosity – For laminating, gluing, structural adhesives, and fairing compounds.
Caution!
Vapors harmful. Keep out of reach of children.
When used with Fiberglass Hawaii 4:1B Epoxy Hardener, is an excellent multipurpose, medium-viscosity epoxy system. Two hardeners are available: Fast 10-15 minute pot life and Slow 20-25 minute pot life @ 75° F. Can be used on most surfaces including wood, fiberglass, polystyrene, polyurethane, and PVC foam. Will not bond to most plastics.
Preparation
Surface must be sanded and clean, dry and free of oil-based paint, oil, wax, dust and other contaminants. Sand thoroughly. Do not wipe with tack cloth.
Mixing
Mix thoroughly (4) parts of part A 4:1 Epoxy with (1) part of part B 4:1 Hardener. Do not alter mixing ratio. Be sure to mix thoroughly, stir from bottom to top. Larger batches need longer mixing.
Application
To avoid waste, mix only the quantity of system that can be applied in 15 minutes. Using a roller, brush, etc. apply mixed resin/hardener to surface. Best results will be obtained at 75ºF. Colder temperature will cause system to thicken and cure slower.
Drying Time
1-1.5 hours, cure time 2-7 days @ 75ºF.
Painting
Fill-coated laminate must be sanded prior to finish coating or painting. Surfaces exposed to sunlight must be protected from degradation by ultra violet light.
Cleanup
Use Fiberglass Hawaii Acetone for cleanup of tools and equipment. Wash hands thoroughly after use with soap and water only.
Uses
Coating wood tables, spools, fiberglass boats, foam sandwich construction including urethane, PVC or styrene foam; when used with thickening agents acts as an adhesive where a rigid room temperature cured epoxy is required.
Caution!
Avoid breathing vapors and contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Hands or other skin areas coming in contact with epoxy should be washed thoroughly with soap and water. Rubber gloves and eye protection should be worn when handling.
